Collie in Capriccio

The spectre of the architect John Nash saunters past a triumphal arch opposite Cumberland Terrace on Regents Park in London. The Terrace sustained extensive bomb damage during the second world war. The Arch of Constantine shouldn't  be there but in a caprice of fantasy anything can be anywhere.

The painting was inspired by frequent visits to the Mall Galleries which are just off Trafalgar Square, The man in the blue denim suit has just awoken from a  dream and he shouldn't be there, in fact he doesn't know where he is, neither does the collie dog.
